Rebuilding Together was formerly called Christmas in April. Since 2001, Summit has
helped Stafford families repair and/or restore their homes.
Troy Ohler is this years recipient of Summit’s Rebuilding Together project. Troy was
injured in a motorcycle accident and is paralyzed from the waist down. Troy is not
currently able to work and support himself, and not capable of living alone. He has
moved into his parent’s home which is not handicap accessible and it is very difficult
for them to give him the care and treatment that he needs. The cost for a contractor to
do the work is more than the Ohler's can afford and assistance from the community
will be required for Troy to get the needed upgrades to the home. Completion of
this work will provide Troy with many of the tools he will need to become self-sufficient
and to regain the independence and self worth that is so important to the
recovery of a paralysis victim.
Work Started on April 17th and will continue on weekends through the month of May.
